It was announced as being the last ever Marillion Weekend at ‘flagship’ Center Parcs Port Zélande, sadly… ‘Farewell To Port Zélande’ it was called. Troops gathered from all over the world to march once more. The concert-tent was raised on the parking lot again, the crew built a huge stage in it, the band rehearsed 3 full yet different sets of music and support-acts (Anneke van Giersbergen and Haunt The Woods stood out for me personally, but there were many more!) were booked. I should also mention that the beautiful choir Flowing Chords (that ‘h’ found singing on a street in Rome and invited to the H Natural show documented on the stunning S.P.Q.R.-Bluray) helped to lift the songs “The Crow & The Nightingale”, “Go!”, “Man Of A 1000 Faces” and “Care” to a very high level and on top of that, did a stunning rendition of Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” during the Rockaoke on Sunday! I was in the photopit (for which Lucy granted me a pass, thanks!) that evening, from which I shot some of the photos below. But then Lucy announced that there will be another Port Zélande Marillion Weekend in 2027, during the Q&A in Utrecht in December 2025! TivoliVredenburg is still working on the restoration of the roof…
